Each course is one year long. They are recommended to be taken during one of the highlighted years.
ELEMENTARY PHYSICAL SCIENCE
The hands-on nature of the ELEMENTARY (K-3rd) version not only develops a student’s interest in the world around them, but also establishes a solid foundation for all future science courses. The lessons and directions are both written and narrated to facilitate learning for those students working on their reading skills.
The STANDARD (4th-6th) version is presented in a straight forward, easily understood, and hands-on manner. Real life projects built by the student make scientific principles tangible and concrete. Not only do the students learn and retain the information, but they will also find themselves enjoying and succeeding in science.
The ADVANCED (7th-10th) version builds on the foundation of the standard version, expanding it by adding 72 lessons and 3 additional projects. This course establishes a strong understanding of physical science. It introduces the students to the foundational concepts of high school physics including how to follow an accurate lab write-up.
Exploration Education Science is a great way to study STEM as you go through the physical science courses.
What is STEM?
STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. In the education field we are finding wonderful advantages for students who are able to study these topics as they are integrated into the students' curriculum. Not only does it prepare students for future vocations, it also helps with the learning process. STEM integrates these four disciplines into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.
SCIENCE: Simply put, it is the study of the physical and natural world around us. Certain principles such as the scientific method (using observations, hypotheses, experiments, and theories) are used in the process of studying science.
TECHNOLOGY: Technology is the study and application of scientific discoveries for practical purposes. Industry uses technology to develop and produce products. Technology is considered applied science.
ENGINEERING: Engineering is the branch of knowledge that is concerned with design, building, machines and structures. . Like technology, it is the application of knowledge for a practical end. Engineering deals with the interrelation with life, society, and the environment.
MATH: Mathematics deals with the shape, quantity and arrangement of anything around us. It is the building block for everything in our daily lives. Math deals with numbers and their operations, measurement, transformations, and generalizations.
Obviously Exploration Education covers science, but we also include in our studies the technology that has and is being developed. We cover engineering concepts both in design and use of the projects that the students create. Math is used throughout the curriculum and is applied to real life applications.
